5th Annual Special Needs Awareness Walk & Fun is Saturday, September 13, 2014

The 5th Annual Special Needs Awareness Walk & Fun Day is just right around the corner!  We hope that you want a shirt…….they cost $10 and they are black this year and we think are the coolest shirts that we have ever had!  Order yours today!

We have been sending out our Walker’s Pledge Packets, do you want one?  We can send it to you!  Just let us know.  Maybe your team will win a prize……..the prizes are popcorn from Metropolis Popcorn!  Yum!

The goodie bags are getting filled up!  We have goodies from:  Metropolis Popcorn, Longhorn Steakhouse, TGIFriday’s,  our fav AVON Representative, Peggy Pugh and more will be coming!  The eco-friendly bags are coming from Summa Western Reserve Hospital, thank you so much!!!

We have a dance group coming from Hoban High School…..so put your dancing shoes on……there will be two inflatables…..lots of raffle baskets…..food……lots of vendors coming……games….and new this year is a hands-on activity tent!

August 12 Community Meeting…………Getting ready!

“Getting Ready for the Working World:  An Evolution of Services”  Larry Cassidy, BA, MA Program Director, Opportunities by REM

We hope you will join us for a meeting on how the services for individuals with developmental disabilities have evolved tremendously over the past 40 years including how our delivery system has improved over the years. what is currently available in support services, and how our current system is designed to meet both residential and the world of working.  Information will also be given on the Employment First Initiative.  And what can you do to assure that your loved ones are getting the services that are developed for their needs for the upcoming years.  Please join us!

July is our 6 Year Anniversary….Thank you to all who came!

Thank you to everyone that came to our celebratory potluck supper on July 6…..we enjoy this meeting so much.  We get to slow down, sit down, relax and just share with you.  The food was good, but the company was really great!  Our favorite friends were there and we made some new ones.  Thank you for sharing the evening with us.  Six years old!!!  We are finally past that toddler stage!   Time flies when you are having fun!

Two important dates to announce!!!!

It seems like just a day or two ago that we had our Spring Fundraiser and Casino Night, but it was actually a month ago, but we have already set the calendar and reserved for next year!  The 5th Annual Spring Fundraiser & Casino Night will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015.

Right around the corner is the 5th Annual Special Needs Awareness Walk & Fun Day!  This year our event will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Bolich Middle School.  Cuyahoga Falls City Schools will again be our co-sponsor for this event.  Lots and lots of details to come!

Fund Recipients for the 2nd Quarter Announced

Zane’s Foundation Board Members are very proud to announce the four (4) families were served during the second quarter of the 2014 year.  The total funds disbursed was just over $5000.00.  One recipient received funds for speech  therapy; a second recipients received funds for music therapy; the third recipient received funds for school tuition at an alternative school for individuals with special needs; and the fourth recipient received funds for therapeutic riding.

The “Family Support Fund” Committee Members have all received their files for the third quarter with a disbursement date set towards the end of July, 2014.  Thank you Committee Members and Board Members for a job well done!
