Amy Garret

Amy was born and raised in Southeast Ohio, but now lives in Cuyahoga Falls.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  While waiting to begin graduate school, Amy began substitute teaching for her home school district, Vinton County Local Schools.  During this time she had an opportunity to work with many different students with many abilities and in many environments.

In June of 1995, Amy moved to Kent to begin working on her Master’s Degree in Library Science.  While there, she began to work as a para-professional at the Stow Munroe Falls Public Library.  Still at the Library today, Amy is now the Head of Reference Services, a position that she has held for over 10 years!  During some of the “fun” library events, you may see her dressed as her favorite cartoon character, Scooby-Doo!

Over the the years, Amy has served a volunteer for the the P.A.C.E. Classroom at Lincoln Elementary in Cuyahoga Falls for summer field trips, does pet sitting for several friends, participated on the “A Taste of Stow” organizing committee and attended many of ZF events and activities.  In her spare time, Amy enjoys reading, listening to music and hanging out with friends.  Each October, you can always find her back in Athens playing her trombone and marching with the Ohio University Marching 110 Alumni Band!
